I'm trying to figure out what is going on here and thought you guys could
give me a clue.
I am accessing photos via a smb share on a win2k machine.
If the extention is .JPG, (upper case) the image will not open and asks me
to associate with an application. Then it doesn't allow me to change the
association.
If I change the extention to .jpg, (lower case) the image shows a thumbnail
and will open from the smb share in Eye of Gnome, the default application.
However... If I drag a copy of the photo into my home directory, it shows a
thumbnail and will open automatically even if the extention is still in
upper case.
I would like to be able to see thumbnails and open these files without
changing the extention of thousands of photos. They come out of the camera
with the upper case extention.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bradley
