You probably want that stuff. Remember, this is BEFORE you've laid down
your OS - those disks usually create the diagnostic partition that has the
recovery and diagnostic tools (d'oh). Which you do want in case there are
hardware problems.

I am undertaking a Linux install on a virgin Dell PowerEdge 1850. It
shipped with no O/S, and a bunch of "Server Administration" disks.
Upon startup, the splashscreens are begging me to install the software on
said disks prior to my Linux install.
Question: Is all this Dell software required? This server is for
educational purposes, won't be talking to other Dell servers, and won't
require remote administration (other than what can be done on the CLI via
SSH). I will be installing some flavor of RH, most likely Fedora.
I'd rather not have a lot of third-party apps to muck up the works if I
don't need them.
