[NTLUG:Discuss] Mac v. Linux

I am reminded of the quote (wish I could remember who said it): "If all 
you have is a hammer, it is surprising how many things need a nail."  
Some thoughts along the way, however:
(a) Both Mac and MS are very opaque, and proprietary.
(b) Most (if not all) UNIX flavors are also proprietary, though not as 
opaque.
(c) Linux is not proprietary, and only as opaque as you want it to be.
