[NTLUG:Discuss] Mac v. Linux

Howdy,
I like OSX and have missed having it around. I could only run 10.2
because my Mac(Beige G3) was not good for anything newer and it was not
really good for that. When my snazzy new Radeon 7000 arrives and I put
it in my snazzy new B&W, I'll move to 10.3. Now, with that background,
let me criticize it a bit. Jerry Pournelle say about the Mac that it
makes many things easy and a few things really difficult. That always
seemed pretty accurate to me. For example, I want to do something that
should be a pretty common thing. I want to create a samba share that
will be freely accessible(no logging in to Mac accounts) to anyone
connecting from my class C subnet. It is safe enough, and simple to do
in Linux, but I have not figured it out in OSX.
Educate me,
Ralph
