Sure, there are expensive proprietary apps. But, there are lots of
free apps for OSX, too. In fact, the free apps have done everything I
need and I have never had to buy an app for OSX. Many Linux apps have
been ports to OSX. And this really cool case Mac only cost $75.
According to a Mac expert I talked to, that is a decent price, and about
what they are going for.
I think OSX has a place. But, I don't think it will ultimately be more
than a niche market, as compared to Linux. OSX is nice, It has
advantages and disadvantages as compared to Linux. For certain
applications, it excels. But, given a choice of operating systems for
day in and day out usage, I have no doubt about choosing Linux.
