[NTLUG:Discuss] SuSE 9.3 update from SuSE 8.2

OK, I need to upgrade SuSE 8.2 to 9.2
or 9.3 to get the 2.6 kernel. Need this in 
order to install Cisco VPN client.

I go to Fry's and they have "9.3-pro" and
"9.3-pro-update". I assume the update is for
an existing SuSE installation. Is the update
a reliable way to get to 9.3 from 8.2 or is 
it safer to just do a new 9.3 install. I would
prefer to do an update so that I don't have to
save off and then retore data. Anyone had 
experience with a SuSE update involving kernel
change?
