<somewhat off-topic posting>

My sincere apologies if this message goes against NTLUG's mailing list
etiquette, but since Chris just did a presentation about PmWiki at the
August NTLUG meeting, I thought I'd let members know that I'm doing
a presentation on "Installing and Configuring PmWiki 2.0" at the
DFW Unix Users Group Linux SIG tomorrow night (September 1).
I'm even expecting to have the 2.0.0 version released by then. :-)

And, as long as I'm on the shameless self-promotion track...
the originally scheduled presenter for the main DFWUUG meeting
backed out yesterday, so as a last-minute replacement I've been
asked to be the presenter at the main meeting, where I'll be
discussing "Experiences in Managing Open Source Projects". This
talk will describe what it's been like to work on (and managing)
open-source projects, including a discussion of open-source
licensing issues, community building, and ways that non-programmers
can contribute to open-source projects. Plus whatever else I
decide to throw in.

The main meeting starts tomorrow at 7:00pm at Nerdbooks.com in
Richardson, with the Linux SIG and other SIG meetings starting
shortly after the main presentation (usually about 8:30pm-9:00pm).
Or, come early at 6:00pm to meet with the Career SIG and have
some pizza before the main meeting. More details are at the
dfwuug.org website, or contact me off-list.

And yes, I'll be very glad to reprise one or both of the
presentations (undoubtedly improved versions) at a future
NTLUG meeting. :-)

Hope to see you there!

Pm
