Three articles of interest about the coming Fundamental Shift in the
Information Paradigm.
(1) Very interesting article "The death of software" at---

followed by---
(2) The article "Microsoft's nightmare inches closer to reality" at---

(3) This article was published in March 2005 and posted to the DFWUUG
Wiki Storage SIG about the same time. This means there are some really
excellent "future looking" people out there and in here (DFWUUG)---

This article is also on the DFWUUG Wiki at---

The first article is very interesting because I just came from a Job
seminar where they told all of us "old people" to forget about ever
getting back into programming. I have heard this before when everybody
was taking a degree in Computer Science and getting hired for big
bucks as a programmer. It did not work out for most of them and the
companies that depended on them.
I was trained to be a "solutions provider". If the solution requires
programs and programming then I will evaluate, select and install COTS
products to do the job or be a programmer for the solution.
Some people are programmers. It is a gift of aptitude. I cannot
compete with those people and never tried to.
A "solutions provider" is a gift of aptitude. Not all programmers have
that. The "pattern recognition" is different.
Thanks, Robert
