SuSE is a Linux distro (I'm sure you know that)...an applet is a small
'icon-ish' program that resides on my KDE taskbar.  I've been able to find
that there is an applet called "Wireless Networking Information" that does
show a great deal of information.  And you can also use a program called
"Network Selector" (which is in Internet --> Administration ) if you have
some of the 'extras' software installed...its pretty nice also.

Basically was hoping to cram Kismet into an icon, but will do with it
running in a terminal window.
