So that would be a KDE applet, not a SuSE applet.  I'll ignore  
arguing semantics about what an applet actually is and the difference  
between a distribution, a window manager, and a desktop environment.

I don't know of anything that will cram the functionality of Kismet  
into an icon, but you can use ksystraycmd to put anything into the  
systray as an icon, IIRC.  You may want to be more specific about  
what functionality you are looking for.
