The manual, or do research online, particularly at the manufacturer's site.

A quick search turned up an HP LJ 1320 which understands PS-2, for under 
$300.  That seems pretty reasonable for a laser printer to me.  I swear 
I'm going to get a PS printer one day.  I too am tired of the printer 
driver madness, and $300 isn't that bad.   If you're willing to do 
refurb, I see that model advertised for $260.  I'm sure there are other 
models available for similiar prices.
