I think it's good idea but the event sould probably be focused on
technology. Do you have some events in mind, as an example?
Thanks,

==========================
We have talked about an event in the past, and until this last week it
was just talk. Hopefully we can get some more minds to work the process
now.
Topics that can be presented can vary, with technology being a prime
topic. Two prime topics to me are wireless and security, but there many
others.
Ideas:
Could we put on seminars and help sessions on various topics?
Wireless and security are tops in this discussion.
Applicatons such as going beyond the typical suites that come with
Linux. Using video is an excellent idea.
Although GIMP is a standard, using it takes a lot of practice and
someone showing all the neat things that can be done.
The list can really be endless.
What we need is to have multiple distros represented. I would strongly
believe that Novell would be at the forefront, IBM would surely like to
demo what they are doing. I do not think it would be hard at all to
bring Red Hat / Fedora into the presentation. Can we get various other
companies to come into the presentation and support with demonstrations
and seminars? If it is organized well, I believe so.
I put the challenge to the list, who wants to participate and get
something going. It will be a lot of work, but over some time. I think
this is a fantastic oportunity, and I am willing to work on it (not
lead). Who will join in the endevor?
Dennis
