My old Fujifilm camera had problems if you removed files from
it's memory using the PC. You might try using 'cp' instead
of 'mv' at step 6, then delete the photos using the camera's
own menu system.
My newer Olympus has no problems in that regard.
Failing that, this sounds like the camera didn't finish storing the
photo for some reason. Do those same pictures look OK in the cameras
own LCD display?
