[NTLUG:Discuss] Paralled Port stops working under OpenSuSE 10

Hi Guys.

Ever since I installed Open SuSE 10.0 on two machines, neither have been 
able to detect or work any devices (including a Canon Printer) on their 
parallel port.  Instead, the Kernel reports Buffer errors or port/device 
does not exist.  I will be bringing both machines to the Install project 
tomorrow morning, if anybody wants to hands on.

As one of the machines in question is a file/print server, having the 
parallel port disabled is a bit of an issue.  This has been going on for 
several months now, and I have not been able to figure out how to fix.
