Mine is my regular home computer - it's got a 3GHz CPU,
a gig of RAM, a 200GB and a 300GB hard drive and a
combo DVD player CD-writer. Graphics is an nVidia
6800 Ultra (AGP) and the PCI bus slot is taken up
by a PCI SCSI board so I can run my UMAX Astra
scanner.
I got it as a 'bare bones' system in Fry's - $135
for the box, PSU and mobo - I bought a CPU for it
and everything else came out of my old deskside
machine. Motherboard audio & networking worked
OK. Mouse, Joystick, Webcam, Goldtouch keyboard
and a separate Targus number pad all run on USB.
I put SuSE 9.3 on it - but it wouldn't recognise
the graphics card if I installed 64bit Linux - so
I had to install 32bit on it. Sometime when I
have time I'll figure out why - but for now this
is plenty good for what I need it for.
The box runs suprisingly cool and quiet given that
it's pretty much fully stuffed with internal hardware.
I'm very pleased with it.
