I have been unsuccessful in getting ndiswrapper to work on my Suse 9.1
system, kernel 2.6.5-7.257. I followed all the step-by-steps that I found on
the net and everything appears to be there EXCEPT the &^%#! wlan0 device.
#iwconfig
returns lo, sit0 and eth0, none of which have anything to do with wireless.
#modprobe -l |grep ndiswrapper shows that the module exists:
"/lib/modules/2.6.5-7.257-default/extra/ndiswrapper.ko"
#lsmod |grep ndiswrapper returns "ndiswrapper 123860 0"
#grep wlan0 /etc/modprobe.conf returns "alias wlan0 ndiswrapper"
#ls -l /etc/modprobe.d/ndiswrapper
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 24 Jun 24 15:14 /etc/modprobe.d/ndiswrapper
and its contents are: "alias wlan0 ndiswrapper"
The Windows wireless driver is intalled:
#ndiswrapper -l
Installed ndis drivers:
tnet1130 driver present
What am I not doing?
