David,
Darwin Streaming Server is the open source of Apple's QTSS. DSS runs on linux. I have it running on a fedora box. It is quite stable. We use it daily. We use Quicktime Broadcaster to feed it.

Subject: [NTLUG:Discuss] Linux based video streaming server?
Hi,
Does anyone have recommendations for a Linux based video streaming server?
Ideally, it should do multicasting, and have the stream be received by a variety of clients (realplayer, windows media player, etc).
Any recommendations?
Thanks!!
David
