I've had the exact same thing happen to me:  Got stiffed on a contract
from a contact made here on this list.  Some time later (maybe a year
or more), the same individual posted again, looking for a consultant.
I felt it was only fair to post a factual response to let other NTLUG
folks know to use caution with this individual.

There was no slander or libel involved, since I simply posted factual
information (and had already filed small claims paperwork, which is
public record).

Whether you owe it to the community to let them know about predators
in our midst is a decision only you can make.  With proper safeguards
and good legal advice, there are ways to let it be known that a
company has been less than on the level in the past.
