Why not get a UPS?  I was running an sql databse and didn't notice we were having brown outs until I checked the logs.

Is it possible for a linux server to automatically recover from a
power failure ?

I am thinking maybe using  reiser file system and some recovery
application but I am not familiar with such. Can you suggest anything
?

The server will be running  Tomcat 5.5, MySQL 5.0, Java, SS.
