Uh, Have you tried working with the Debian Developers at large?  Its 
been my experience that the Debian folks do not take too kindly to 
helping out folks on other distros...even if they're Debian based.  I 
remember asking them about some general linux questions, only to be told 
in no uncertain terms that won't support/help me, once they found out I 
was trying out Knoppix.
