and it's not a good thing.  Tried to 'mount -o rw /dev/fd0 
/media/floppy'.  Mount didn't complain but it mounted it read-only 
except to root.  Edited fstab and rebooted, my changes "auto-magically" 
disappeared.  Seems fstab-sync (a.k.a fstab-borg - you have been 
assimilated, resistance is futile) is the culprit.  30 minutes of 
reading later I find I need to learn something about XML and the 
less-than-obvious HAL vocabulary to make modifications.  I could just 
disable fstab-sync but I try to go with the newer technology just to 
keep up.  However, these politically-correct-isms are irritating.

Is there an easy and obvious way to fix fstab so that the floppy is 
user-mountable read-write?
