I have a dual-monitor setup and love it. I have a Nvidia GeForce PCX
5750 based card that has one DVI and one VGA output. I use the
proprietary Nvidia drivers and used nvidia-settings to setup the
dual-monitor output which couldn't have been easier. As for the
monitors, I started out originally with just a Dell UltraSharp 1907FP
connected through DVI. I later added a Westinghouse L1928NV
(connected through VGA) we had lying around the office that I have
offset to put up documents, etc. while I perform most of my work on
the Dell. The Dell is simply beautiful. The Dell UltraSharps are, in
my opinion, some of the best looking monitors I have ever seen. It
also has a built in USB hub that works great. If the Westinghouse
wasn't right beside the Dell, I would be more than happy with it, but
it doesn't quite have the color range that the Dell has. Also the
speakers on it are next to worthless.

Anyway, I would always recommend looking at newegg and/or amazon and
read the reviews of some monitors on there. You can usually get a
pretty good idea of the quality from the reviews. We have also bought
about 20 BenQ monitors for our office, all of which have had no
problems and look great.

Anyway, I hope this might help. A last few details in case you are
interested, I am running Ubuntu Edgy and I used envy to install the
nvidia drivers.

Hope this helps,

Preston
