In my "humble (but accurate) opinion" {insert numerous smiley faces
here} I would hope that, if the issue was applicable to Linux (not just
strictly Linux focused), that it would be accepted here. The solution
to your problem might be applicable to someone else on Linux.
If we are going to narrow our focus to strictly Linux then we logically
should consider Open Office, GIMP, Firefox/Thunderbird, KDE (since they
run on Windows) and various BSD-origin programs (such as raccoon and who
knows what else) off-limits. I hope we never "go there".
"Strictly Windows", NetWare, OS2 and other categories of questions
(unless the issue is interoperability) are clearly OT but there seems to
be a fairly large gray area particularly when it relates to *NIX issues.
