Well, this isn't much of a recommendation, but I can say that buying
'commodity' USB drives in bulk will reveal some quality control
problems.  Recently my company acquired a couple hundred drives from a
business that sells them.  They were supposed to be 1GB in size, and
they were essentially that size... but there were variations in the
reported capacity by several kilobytes... some were 0.9GB, others were
1.1GB, some in between.  With such lax standards, I felt that the drives
were rejects from higher quality manufacturers.

So if quality standards are important to you, I would avoid those types
of sellers.
