Something to try ...
I've heard about supposed bugs in this procedure using YAST
1. Save the modified file as resolve2.conf.
2. Open up the config file in vi (located at
/etc/sysconfig/network/config). Make a backup of that.
3. Change MODIFY_RESOLV_CONF_DYNAMICALLY = "yes" to
MODIFY_RESOLV_CONF_DYNAMICALLY = "no".
4. Restart and then log in as root. You will find the original resolve.conf
has changed. (well for me it did at least)
5. Open the backup copy (resolv2.conf) and save it as resolv.conf.
6. Restart and log in normally. It should work.
