[NTLUG:Discuss] A potentially useful thing

Howdy,
This solution won't help you on this trip, but maybe on a future one.
I would look for an Airlink Wireless router, model AR430W. Fry's runs
them for $15. You can put DDWRT or OpenWRT on there and customize them
a great deal. One of the add-ins I have seen referred to is an Asterisk
server, so it would seem to do everythink you ask for, and cheaply. It
is an extra box, but it is pretty small. It is basically the same as
the classic Linksys WRT-54G, but smaller, and much cheaper.
What I want them to do is produce a similar box, but with 4 times the
memory. That would add pennies to the production cost, but open up all
sorts of new possibilities for use.
Good day,
Ralph
