Twice... of course.  A typical 33Mhz PCI will only do <600Mbit.
You can get full gigabit PLUS with PCIe... plus?  Plus in the
fact that you can have 4 gigabit ports on a lowly x4 PCIe without
breaking a sweat (Intel does have a 4 port card).

If all you have is PCI, you really need PCI-X speeds to
do full gigabit.
