DO NOT USE NATIONWIDE!!!
I can not stress this enough. I still have a box there that I will
never see again. The service is horrible, the service is horrible, it
was just bad.
I do IT consulting and I have worked for several large companies that
have run their own data centers and I know what they should look like,
how they should run, how hard it can be and how hard it isn't.
Last outage I had was partly my fault. My box was old, but had been
around forever. It was stable, but I had to touch it... it locked up.
I called support to get a reboot. No remote way of doing it as it
turned out. The local tech had quit. The closest one was in Houston.
Took 14 hours from request to reboot to it actually happening.
I requested access. I was given a keycard to get into the colo space
they were leasing from a telco company. The cages were locked. I could
get into the colo, but not their cage. It was a clusterfuck.
I know people still using them. While the outages are few and far
between, when it happens it is bad.
I have 2 personal colo boxes at Appserve Technologies. They are a local
company. They bought SprocketData a while back. I have had my boxes
there for a long time and have had very good service and support for the
price.
But we weren't discussing collocation... so I digress.
