"Ndiswrapper says that it is ok, everything is there but wlan0 does
NOT show up anywhere. Ndiswrapper module is loaded, the alias
points to the tnet1130 driver and all is ok... except for that tiny
little detail about no $@!&% wlan0."

It seems that I had some problems like this once at it was related to one or both of the following files:
/etc/iftab
/etc/network/interfaces
