Don't remember the model, but a while back I needed to scan
a few pics so my neighbor was kind enough to loan me his Canon scanner.
It looked like the CanoScan LiDE25.
Also I don't remember which software program I used, may have been 
XScanImage.
The GUI was very minimal. Plugged in the USB and scanned my pics. Easy 
peasy.
