Here's a list of supported devices:
http://www.sane-project.org/sane-supported-devices.html
I've used an Epson Perfection 1260 for several years now, but it's probably
out of production by now. I got it at Cifrcut City and was only about $60 at
the time, (on sale).
Back in June, I bought a Canon CANOSCAN LIDE 25 R for $50 from
newegg.comfor someone else. I played with it some and it seemed to
work just fine when
we first got it, still working fine today - so I'm told.
