I have been accused in past of not supplying enougt information so if this
is overkill my apology.
Typically since I purchased a 160 external and have not a clue as to how it
got recognized, but it did and I installed SUSE 11 and my boot sequence was
Ubuntu, XP, SUSE. Shortly after that got an error msg in SUSE (sorry forgot
now what it was) but it went unresolved with an inability to boot to SUSE
and then SUSE and obviously external was unavaible in boot sequence. Then
for whatever reason I lost ability to boot into anything and in its place
grub loading error 21. Enter my experience with BIOS. Went there went to
advanced, no external showing, unplugged external, shut down, replugged went
to BIOS+advanced and there is the external under the HD and out of
desperation and ignorance I loaded default, back to boot and access to
Ubuntu and XP on HD but no external.
This morning was no exception error 21 same process to get the external into
BIOS load default because it worked and I am in with no access to external.
Seems as if I am booting from external, but it appears 2nd on BIOS with no
access to actual external. If someone will help I will do exactly as they
indicate. Short of that I will take the drive to Dallas for next meeting.
