Hi Guys.

Trying something new -- trying to get a scanner working on Linux.

As root;
blue:~ # scanimage -L
device `genesys:libusb:002:003' is a Canon LiDE 35/40/50 flatbed scanner
blue:~ #

As user logged in on desktop;
laurie at blue:~> scanimage -L
device `genesys:libusb:002:003' is a Canon LiDE 35/40/50 flatbed scanner
laurie at blue:~>

As user logged in from via remote shell;

steve at blue:~> scanimage -L

No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages).
steve at blue:~>

This issue is probably why the remote Scanner clients are not working.

Suggestions?
