You may want to check the power management settings in your screen 
saver.  Sometimes multiple powersaving features get activated (on the 
mother board, video card, in the O/S, etc.) and each prevents the other 
from receiving the "wake-up" call.

To find the settings:  System->Preferences->Screensaver, and
	push the "Power Management" button.
