Cost is of course always a consideration, but in this case not so much 
as trying to trace the issue ... your suggestion then is to replace both 
the MB and the memory?
By the way (for those following the thought), I did do a visual 
inspection of the capacitors while I had the case open, and I found 
nothing out of the ordinary that I could see
