For those who may not realize why we no longer use the xorg.conf file,
(by default) .... [this is the way I understand it]:

Without the config file, xorg [usually] detects our video card and
monitor and loads up driver and display settings on a session by
session basis, which is really quite convenient for us because; If
we change out the video card or monitor, nothing will need to be done
if there is no xorg.conf file because everything just works as it
should - the system loads video drivers and display settings
automatically after we start the machine up again, (in most cases).

Now in the case where we end up using "sax2" [or "X -configure" or
"xorgsetup" or "dpkg-reconfigure xorg"] to write /etc/X11/xorg.conf,
it would probably be best to delete that file just before shutting
down to change a display adapter or monitor and that way xorg will
automatically detect the new hardware and run just fine [without
using the xorg.conf file], ...(in most cases). Well, when changing
the display adapter yes, but not when switching only a monitor, I
think display settings will usually be done automatically [in most
cases] even if there IS an xorg.conf file, but if a wrong driver is
designated in the xorg.conf file, well, things may not work as well as
it should, and maybe not at all.

Auto detection works great [in most cases] so we should probably only
create a config file as last resort.. (only if something doesn't work
right).
