The Debian Mailing List used to be absolutely vicious.  I do not know 
what it has become over the last 7 years because I have never gone back. 
  I had asked a question about video configuration and was told that if 
I was "Too Fu**ing stupid to RTFM, I should just go buy a Mac and STFU!" 
  That was by more than one responder.  Since I don't really care for 
people who do not listen, but merely attack, I have not been back to the 
list, nor will I ever go.  If it ever comes down to needing info from 
the Debian list, I will take their advice, go buy a Mac, and not bother 
with them.  YMMV, as some on this list are fond of saying.  BTW, I use 
Debian as the Web/Moodle/Blog server in my school district, have no 
problems, and will not use an RPM based distro.  Peace, Dennis in Victoria
