Anyone out there that can go deep into this subject?
My experiences so far.... D-.
IMHO, RHEV won't be ready for AT LEAST two more full
iterations (AFTER 2.2 is released).
Current product is a PROPRIETARY KVM implementation that
uses a proprietary protocol path from a Windows 2003
Server 32bit ONLY .Net application.
The platform is VERY picky about hardware and provides NO way
of tweaking things so that you can make it work on the hardware
without MAJOR hacking.
I'm saying this in hopes of ticking off a Red Hat person so I can
get help... getting help from Red Hat is hopeless.
Also, the "plan" is to migrate from one bad enterprise architecture
to ANOTHER one by migrating the FAT client base from .Net to
JBoss (sigh)... why... oh why....
Right now RHEV is a ticket to more VMware sales....
Does ANYBODY still do KISS principled software??
Is there any forum for rhev out there??
Basically I have a server platform with the evil bnx2x driver'd 10gE.
I cannot disable_tpa on the driver and need to in order for kvm
bridging to work right (required if you want VMs to have network
support that works). Without it, you get a myriad of framing
errors resulting is VERY poor network performance.
Sigh.... this has been a REAL BIG PAIN... (thanks Red Hat... NOT)
