Yes.  To be more specific, it could be the server sending the message 
and you e-mail client is relaying it.  It could be that your e-mail 
client is simply telling you that the server did not accept the 
authorization.  You did not tell us which client you use so this makes 
things a bit more "guessy."  My "guess" is that the message text is 
generated by your e-mail client, whatever that may be.
