Major hint:
mpeg, mov, and avi are envelope formats. like tar, ar, and zip (w/o the
compression). mpeg, mov, and avi do not define the audio and video
codecs used to encode the audio and video streams.
mpeg2, mpeg3, mpeg4, mjpeg, etc. are video codecs, they define the
quality and size of the video stream.
mp3, aac, ogg, etc. are audio codecs, they define the
quality and size of the audio stream.
