[NTLUG:Discuss] mythbuntu and ME!

Gentlemen ~ Hello,

   Thanks for responding to my query re: using mythbuntu!!!  AS usual - I like to try things before I'm comfortable...
   Mythbuntu was in my 10.04 repositories, SSOOO - I checked them off and loaded them!!!!
NOW - I have a black desktop - NO - ubuntu gnome desktop and can't get into it?
The software loaded fine and I wanted to see what it would do!!
I can't return to my desktop, I can get to a command prompt, but that doesn't do anything, just runs me around in circles!!   From login in to ~$ prompt, what ever that means??
   
   In order to get out, I'm forced to hard-boot, which I hate doing, could ruin everything!!
As the screen closes, it NOW shows mythbuntu, instead of the original ubuntu!!  Has myth taken over my computer and destroyed my gnome?

Just another LINUX lesson..If you don't know what to expect, it will happen!!
