[NTLUG:Discuss] Sound Problem

Good idea.  In fact, all of them have been good.  Unfortunately, the
cdrom is also busted on this cranky machine. It doesn't power on! Any
ideas on that?  I hate to reinstall because Many of the programs have
been updated and the new configuration files don't play nice with my old
configuration files so I have to do all of them over again.  :(
