Holiday, a few extra days off, time to play with machines ;-)
I've been running ethernet over powerline to linux boxes in my house, but recent electrical work now effectively prevents that. bummer. I've managed to avoid wireless until now.
My DSL router has access point built in. I am just looking for recommendation on hardware for my desktops, most urgently my wife's kubuntu box.
I'm also looking for a KVM switch that "speaks" linux (home brew box +kubuntu lucid) and windows (company issued Lenova T400, win xp, sp3). I used an el' cheapo iogear usb KVM for a short while. My linux box handled the switch to and from very well, thank you, but windows kept getting confused. 'win' sometimes took a very long time to recognize the keyboard/mouse, so much so that he'd time out and go to sleep. Often, on switching back to 'win' he would get his video settings screwed up.
Any help greatly appreciated.
