I have attached a ViewSonci VX2250wm-LED to my Mandriva 2008.0 system
and so far so good, except for a couple of minor issue which may be
driver related ... or maybe just cannot be fixed.
The best match I can find for the monitor on the system is a Generic
Flat Panel 1920x1080 ... 1920x1080 being the monitors native resolution
... 60Hz refresh ... all according to specs
The spouse uses this box and she has to set things big to see them
easily ... she is really happy about the wide screen and everything
except a couple of items.
(1) When viewing a Youtube video the timing numbers (how much has
played/total playing time) are so small she has difficulty seeing them
... I haven't found anything to change that.
(2) The icons in the title bar of a window or application are (she says)
too small ... I can change the font size in the title bar, but not the
icons (specifically for minimize, maximize, and close)
Any ideas? Thanks
I suppose I could try to talk her into trading monitors with me
(ViewSonic VX2035wm 1680x1050 50Hz), for which the system does have a
driver, but it is my believe that she will do better with the slightly
larger screen, in the long run.
Regards
Fred James
