Hi All,

Need advise on both of my printers which seem to be malfunctioning at the
same time. I have a Canon PIXMA MX310 and a Dell Laser Printer 5100cn.

Canon MX310 - Using the downloaded Fedora 17 MX310 driver when attempting
to print, the printer status shows "unable to send data to printer." I ran
the troubleshooter and after asking for my root password twice (under
administrative and local root), it said I needed to enable my printer.
When I attempted to do this, it asked for my root password yet again. I
did and it would print but not a complete page although a print preview
showed everything on the page. Also, it keeps reverting back to enabled
unchecked and will ask for root password if I changed any printer
settings. Further, when I try to shut down my MX310 machine, it won't. It
would just be stuck on "shutting down" on the status light until I pulled
the plug on it. I tried deleting the driver and downloading another one
but no such luck-same problems. What surprises me is when I used this
printer to print a document using a windows systems with a windows driver,
everything worked fine. The printer would even shut down normally.

Dell 5100cn - This Linux driver came with the printer and had previously
working consistently. It constantly shows "sending data to printer"
although nothing appears in the print queue. Double clicking to print what
is 'being sent' does not clear this-continuing to do so will cause the same
document to print again and again.

Any ideas/thoughts to rectify would be appreciated.

Thanks
