I can't recomment suso.org enough:

http://www.suso.org

They are a Linux-only shop, no disk quotas (really!), and a small
enough operation that if you ever need to talk to someone, you will
probably end up speaking with one of the owners (Mark or Marina
Krenz), rather than being transferred to some offshore facility. I
actually have a couple accounts with them, and have run my business
site with them for the past 7 years. I also run two nameservers for
an alternative DNS root project I'm cofounder of
(http://www.opennicproject.org), along with a smattering of other
services including a gopher proxy/site and a personal mail forwarding
setup. The Krenzes are terrific to work with, know their stuff, and
are very accommodating.

A basic setup for hosting a website runs less than $10/month. While
they might not be the cheapest, you won't find any hosting provider
with better service. (It's been my experience that you get what you
pay for when it comes to hosting providers.)

BTW, I do *not* get a kickback for recommending them, but do let them
know you read about them on the NTLUG m/l. I'm sure they would be
interested in knowing.
