Attempting to use the HDMI output on my HP Laptop running Fedora 14 to
connect to the TV monitor. What I have so far:

xrandr
LVDS-1 -- screen, has multiople resolutions and working fine
  VGA-1 -- disconnected
  DVI-D-1 -- disconnected
  HDMI-1 -- disconnected

Fedora is evidently detecting the HDMI interface from the above.

I attempted to activate the HDMI with the command
  xrandr --output HDMI-1
got back the prompt with no error message, but on xrandr display the HDMI is
still disconnected.

I have attempted this both with the TV connected and without, so not sure of
what is the issue (besides headspace).

I have also attempted to use the System Settings - Display & Monitor - Size
& Orientation. It shows the above four connections, but when clickin go
HDMI-1 the other options are blocked out and I am not able to specify
values.

BIOS has no setting for the HDMI interface.

Appreciate guidance.

Dennis
