How about a RaspberryPi (or similar), running CUPS as a print
server. CUPS can be managed via a web browser, and a Pi is
pretty much a "black box" that can be turned into an appliance.
(I'm about to put one in from of an HP ink jet computer, and let
it handle the two IPP based printers in the house as well.)
