That's a really really bad assumption.

Bash and even Bourne shell scripts can be very durable and very 
sophisticated, because sophistication is really outside of the language 
choice.  And you could argue that it could require more sophistication 
to solve problems using scripting languages that might be "hindered" by 
their (perceived) "unsophistication" as a language.
