At last night's meeting a question was asked about certificates and
passworded id_rsa keys.
I just tested and certificates do work with passphrased id_rsa private keys
- you are still prompted for the passphrase. Since the certificate process
signs the public key and the passphrase is part of the private key, the
certificate process has no effect on that. I added a passphrase to my
existing key with ssh-keygen and the only file which changes was id-rsa. I
didn't re-sign my public key but, when access was attempted, i was pompted
for the private key's pass phrase. If you would, pass this information
along.
